Training + behaviour Support for You and Your Dog

Do you know what you want your life with your dog to look like, but don’t know how to train to make it a reality? My training packages are designed to help you develop all the essential skills that make your dog an ideal companion, whether at home or out and about.

Do you picture enjoyable walks where you're both having fun together, rather than feeling like you're in a constant battle of wills? Or perhaps you find yourself playing the “has anyone seen my dog?” game, retracing your steps after losing track of your dog’s once-perfect recall?

Would you like to stop being pulled around on walks and understand why loose lead walking feels so challenging? Or imagine having guests over without apologising for your dog jumping up or begging for food?

If you feel like something’s missing and you’re struggling to understand your dog, you’re not alone. It’s common, and the information out there can feel overwhelming and sometimes even contradictory.

I can help.

WHY CHOOSE ME?

As a qualified and experienced Animal Training Instructor (ABTC-ATI), Animal Behaviour Technician (ABTC-ABT) and full member of the APBC, you can feel confident that you’re in safe hands. My knowledge and practical skills have been formally assessed, and I commit to ongoing CPD each year to meet the standards of my respected accrediting bodies.

My approach is reward-based, using food or toys to motivate and teach in ways that prioritise the physical and emotional wellbeing of both you and your dog -sprinkled with humour and joy wherever possible.

In addition to training, I am also able to offer preventative and first-aid behavioural advice, and can implement behaviour or environmental modification plans developed by a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) or Veterinary Behaviourist (VB), following their assessment of your dog.

Let’s secure that life together, made better.

1:1 behaviour support

Do you have a Behaviour Modification Plan from a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) or Veterinary Behaviourist (VB)? Many of these professionals work remotely, but as a qualified Animal Behaviour Technician, I can offer in-person support to help implement the plan and collaborate with your CAB or VB*.

Or perhaps you’re concerned about a new habit developing, or looking to prevent behavioural issues before they start? I can provide preventative, first-aid behavioural advice.

Maybe you’d like to work on cooperative care at home, such as nail trimming or grooming? Perhaps you’re looking to muzzle train your dog, help them feel comfortable wearing a buster collar ahead of a future operation, or build positive associations with vet visits? These are just some of the ways I can support you.

*As an ABT Full member of the ABPC, I am able to provide preventative and first-aid behavioural advice to owners/handlers and/or co-professionals and implement behaviour modification and/or environmental modification plans, developed by a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) or Veterinary Behaviourist (VB) following assessment/evaluation of the animal by that same CAB or VB.

a winning combination

Scent Detection has so many benefits, not least of which is confidence building and being an activity that is naturally calming for dogs. Because of this, I often incorporate Scent Detection into my behavioural support work.

“Scent work has been amazing for building Luna’s confidence and focus…. I’m blown away by her every time I watch her amazing nose in action.”

Lois and Luna

“Maisie had problems with being massively overexcited by people… It’s been the scent work training that made me realise that my understanding of her was a bit wrong.”
