HERE FOR YOU
Do you ever find yourself looking at your dog and thinking, “If only I could fix…”? I’ve been there! None of the dogs I’ve known (whether fostered, in kennels, or curled up on my sofa) started off as the picture-perfect, in-step companion we often imagine. They each came with their own quirks, worries, and challenges. And I had to learn to meet them where they were. That meant being consistent, patient, and willing to ask for help - dogs are living, thinking, and feeling individuals after all.
While working as a solicitor, I spent my spare time volunteering in rescues. It quickly became clear that helping dogs and their families brought me far more joy than any legal document ever could. So I took the leap and retrained.
I’m Cerys Watson, a qualified Animal Behaviour Technician and Animal Training Instructor. I completed two rigorous, year-long PACT courses—passing both with distinction—alongside running a dog walking business for dogs who needed a little extra support or space. I know that feeling of needing “eyes in the back of your head” to spot the jogger, cyclist, squirrel, or discarded burger before your dog does!
I’ve since delivered a guest lecture on Scent Detection for Oxford Brookes’ Animal Behaviour and Welfare BSc, gained practical experience, passed assessments, and continue my professional development through APBC and ABTC accreditations.
